The third race weekend of the GTC Race is on the ME Motorsport calendar from August 9 to 11. The racing series for GT3 and GT4 cars will start at the Hockenheimring. For ME Motorsport from Schwäbisch Gmünd, this is the home race in the 2024 season of the racing series, which is committed to promoting young talent. Markus Eichele's racing team uses a BMW M4 GT4.
This will involve a new face reaching into the BMW steering wheel. 25-year-old Tom Spitzenberger is starting for ME Motorsport for the first time after he was recently able to collect the first kilometers in the team's car. Spitzenberger has gained a lot of experience in the GT4 class in recent years, as he took part in the GTC Race in 2022 and 2023 with an Audi R8 LMS GT4 and previously competed in the Audi Sport Seyffarth R8 LMS Cup.
In Hockenheim, Spitzenberger will share the BMW M4 GT4 with start number #77 with regular driver Linus Hahne, who advanced from the ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup to the GTC Race before the start of the season. In both the GT60 powered by Pirelli championship standings and in the GT sprint races, Hahne is in a promising championship position.
“We are delighted that Tom Spitzenberger will be starting for us in Hockenheim. He has already been able to demonstrate his talent several times in recent years, making me all the more pleased that he will now be racing in our BMW,” says team owner Markus Eichele. “I am certain that Linus can also benefit from his extensive experience in GT4 racing and thus take another step towards becoming a leader. ”
The GTC Race weekend in Hockenheim takes place as part of the ADAC Racing Weekend. The one-hour GT60 powered by Pirelli race will take place on Saturday at 3:50 p.m. The two half-hour GT sprint races will start on Sunday at 11:50 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. All races will be broadcasted live on the GTC Race and ADAC Motorsport YouTube channels.
