Hockenheim GT4 Germany preview

This year's ADAC GT4 Germany season comes to an end with the home race of ME Motorsport in Hockenheim

The big season finale of the ADAC GT4 Germany will take place as part of the DTM in Hockenheim. ME Motorsport will use two BMW M4 GT4s. Team owners Markus Eichele and Philip Wiskirchen as well as Andreas Jochimsen from Denmark and Motorsport Team Germany sponsor pilot Thomas Rackl drive the cars.

In doing so, the team would like to build on the strong performance of previous race weekends. At the last two race weekends at the Nürburgring and at the Red Bull Ring, Eichele was able to claim one victory in the trophy standings. At the Nürburgring, together with his young team-mate, he was even able to take a strong fourth place in the overall standings.

Before the finale in Hockenheim, the two ME Motorsport driver duos finished 13th and 14th in the overall ADAC GT4 Germany standings. Markus Eichele is currently in third place in the trophy classification. Philip Wiskirchen and Thomas Rackl are in fifth and tenth places in the junior standings.

The event in North Baden will also be the home race of the team from Schwäbisch Gmünd, which has invited many guests to the former Grand Prix track. “The anticipation of the end of the season is huge. We have almost 100 guests in Hockenheim and would like to present ourselves from the best side once again. We were able to achieve quite good results there at the guest start last year. We are therefore very optimistic,” explains team owner Eichele.

Full of anticipation, he continues: “We were already in fourth place this year. The dream for Hockenheim would be an overall podium. In particular, the trendy warmer temperatures should suit our car. For me, the highlight in Hockenheim is definitely the entrance to the Motodrom, as you drive into full stands with enthusiastic spectators. We're all really having fun there. ”

The two one-hour ADAC GT4 Germany races start on Saturday at 11:35 a.m. and on Sunday at 4:45 p.m. Both races are broadcasted on free TV by Sport1 and are also streamed worldwide on YouTube.
