The fourth race weekend of the GTC Race took place on the legendary Ardennes rollercoaster in Spa-Francorchamps. ME Motorsport launched a BMW M4 GT4 on the world-famous circuit. Linus Hahne and Philip Wiskirchen contested the GT60 powered by Pirelli race together, while Hahne and team owner Markus Eichele contested the two half-hour GT Sprint races on Sunday as soloists.
In the highly competitive GT60 powered by Pirelli, Hahne and Wiskirchen missed out on the podium by just the blink of an eye. The two youngsters had to settle for fourth place in the GT4 class. In the two GT Sprint races on Sunday, Markus Eichele and Linus Hahne both finished second in the GT4 class, and Eichele was also able to win the trophy classification.
The second GT Sprint round was marked by a tough battle for victory in the GT4 class. Touring car Junior Cup newcomer Linus Hahne fought hard with the Schnitzelalm Racing car over the entire race distance. A few laps before the end of the race, Hahne managed to pass the Mercedes in the Les Combes area, but the race management ordered a change of places because Hahne allegedly left the track while overtaking. “For us, this was a bad decision by the race director. With our onboard camera, we were able to prove afterwards that Linus was already ahead of the curve and had to leave the track as he was pushed away by the Mercedes,” says Markus Eichele.
After the fourth GTC Race weekend, regular driver Linus Hahne is in second place in the GT60 powered by Pirelli standings. In the GT Sprint sprint races, he is in fourth place in the GT4 class. “We would like to thank Kai Jordan and the H&R junior team for their joint cooperation this year. With Linus Hahne, we have great talent in the team, who comes from Kai's school and impresses us with his achievements. We are looking forward to continuing to work with him! “, Eichele praises his protégé.
The season finale of the GTC Race will take place from October 11 to 13 at the Nürburgring. But before that, ME Motorsport will be back in the ADAC GT4 Germany, which will be making a guest appearance at the Red Bull Ring in Styria on the last weekend of September.
