The 2024 GTC Race season began at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. As usual, the racing series starts as part of the ADAC Racing Weekends program, an event platform where the ADAC wants to promote young and popular sports. The two young drivers Philip Wiskirchen and Linus Hahne drive the BMW M4 GT4 from Markus Eichele's team in the racing series.
On Saturday, the one-hour “GT60 powered by Pirelli” race took place, in which Wiskirchen and Hahne shared the wheel of the vehicle. On the technically demanding track in the Magdeburger Börde, the two young drivers showed a strong performance — after one hour of racing, they finished the race in second place in the GT4 class.
It was also second place for Linus Hahne in his half-hour “GT Sprint” race on Sunday afternoon. The newcomer from the ADAC Junior Cup Touring Car was able to get used to his new work tool quickly and left a Mercedes behind him in a duel for second position. A strong start to the GTC race for the 20-year-old newcomer to GT racing!
In the first sprint run, Wiskirchen had to park the car one lap before the end of the race on Sunday morning due to a defect, but was still ranked sixth in the GT4 class.
“We are satisfied with our performance in Oschersleben; we have established ourselves in the top field of the GT4 class, which was our goal before the season,” says team owner Markus Eichele. “Unfortunately, we were unable to achieve a strong result in the first sprint run as the technical problem thwarted us shortly before the end.”
The next GTC Race weekend will take place on the last weekend in June at the Nürburgring. ME Motorsport previously competed in the ADAC GT4 Germany at the DEKRA Lausitzring.
