Review of the Hockenheimring GTC Series

ME Motorsport achieved three podium results at the GTC Race in Hockenheim.

The race weekend of the GTC Race in Hockenheim is behind ME Motorsport. The racing team from Schwäbisch Gmünd started on the traditional course with a BMW M4 GT4, which was driven by regular driver Linus Hahne and new addition Tom Spitzenberger.

On Saturday, the one-hour GT60 powered by Pirelli race took place on the former GP circuit. From fourth place on the grid, Hahne fought his way straight into the top group with a good start and was involved in exciting battles for second position throughout the first half of the race. After the driver change, Spitzenberger continued the fighting, but a Porsche driver guessed himself in front of the former Mercedes stand and hit the BMW in the rear. The vehicle was damaged and turned around, but Spitzenberger continued at an unchanged pace and was able to finish in second position!

Sunday was also exciting for ME Motorsport. In the first GT Sprint race, ADAC Touring Car Junior Cup newcomer Hahne once again fought exciting duels for second position. The youngster fought with his competitors at high speed in the parabolica door handle to door handle. But Hahne fell short in the end and missed second position razor-thin, but was pleased with third place and important points in the championship.

At well above 30 degrees, the second GT Sprint race took place on Sunday afternoon in a real oven. But these temperatures didn't matter to Tom Spitzenberger in the end and he drove to a safe second place in the GT4 class.

“Three races, three podium finishes — things couldn't have gone much better for us,” said team owner Markus Eichele after the exciting race weekend in Hockenheim. “The tough duels were mostly fair, that's what motorsport should be like! Fortunately, we barely lost any time in the collision on Saturday and were able to finish the race in second position. A big thanks also to my team for repairing the damage in the rear. ”

After three race weekends, Linus Hahne is fourth in the GT4 classification of the GTC Race in the ME Motorsport BMW M4 GT4. He is also in fourth place in the junior classification. In the GT60 powered by Pirelli classification, the young racing driver is in second place.

The GTC Race continues from August 30 to September 1, when the racing series will make a guest appearance in Spa-Francorchamps. The appearance on the world-famous Ardennes rollercoaster is considered the highlight of the season in the racing series, which all drivers in the field are looking forward to!
