Just two weeks after the start of the ADAC GT4 Germany season at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, ME Motorsport from Schwäbisch Gmünd is once again making a guest appearance on the track in Magdeburger Börde. At the start of the GTC Race season, the team will start the technically demanding circuit with a BMW M4 GT4. The long-standing racing series is aimed in particular at talented young pilots who are completing their first races with GT cars, as well as ambitious gentleman pilots.
20-year-old Linus Hahne made his way into the GTC Race with ME Motorsport this year. Hahne has competed in the ADAC Tourenwagen Junior Cup since 2021 and has achieved several successes. He finished the years 2022 and 2023 in third position in the overall standings. For ME Motorsport, he also contested the GT4 Winter Series race weekend in Valencia in February and was able to celebrate a podium result in the Spanish metropolis.
Hahne shares the BMW M4 GT4 with Philip Wiskirchen. Wiskirchen started with the team in the GTC Race last year and is driving with the BMW team in the ADAC GT4 Germany this year. Together, the two youngsters will form a powerful driver duo.
The GTC Race is one of the main ADAC Racing Weekends racing series. After the season opener in Oschersleben, the racing series will make guest appearances at the Nürburgring, in Hockenheim and on the Ardennes rollercoaster in Spa-Francorchamps before the season finale will once again be held on the traditional track in the Eifel. Drivers between the ages of 16 and 30, such as Hahne and Wiskirchen, who start in the GTC race with a GT4, are automatically in the GT4 squad. At the end of the year, four drivers from the squad will fight for a free GT3 grid position in the GTC Race in 2025 and 2026.
“We are delighted to be taking part in the GTC Race with two talented young drivers this year,” says team owner Markus Eichele, who took the wheel in the racing series himself last year. “Our goal is very clear that we want to fight for class victories in the GT4 class and, in the best case, to be represented in the inspection test with Linus and Philip. ”
The one-hour “GT60 powered by Pirelli” race starts on Saturday at 2:15 p.m., with a driver change taking place midway through the race. There are two half-hour sprint races on Sunday. The “GT Sprint” races will start at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. All GTC Race races over the weekend will be streamed live on YouTube.
