Hockenheim GT4 Germany review

ME Motorsport's first season in the ADAC GT4 Germany is in the history books. Markus Eichele's team started in Hockenheim with two BMW M4 GT4s in front of a large number of guests. Eichele and Philip Wiskirchen as well as Thomas Rackl and Andreas Jochimsen from Denmark drove the vehicles.

But it became apparent early on that the BMW teams in Hockenheim would have a hard time. The vehicle classification meant that the M4 GT4 could not start with the usual performance.

This was clearly demonstrated in the first race, which began chaotically after a defect at the start light, subsequent collisions and a race interruption. The two BMW M4 GT4s from ME Motorsport finished the race in 17th and 18th positions. Markus Eichele finished third in the trophy classification.

And it should also be difficult for ME Motorsport in the Sunday race. Eichele and Wiskirchen were able to finish the race in 13th place, one position ahead of the sister car.

“Unfortunately, we were unable to show our full potential at Hockenheim, as the BoP slowed down the BMW M4 GT4 quite a bit. This was particularly annoying at our home race in front of our guests,” says Markus Eichele.

Both ME Motorsport cars achieved strong results over the course of the season. Thomas Rackl and Andreas Jochimsen finished 13th in the overall standings before their teammates followed in 15th place. Team owner Markus Eichele finished third in the trophy standings. The drivers from ME Motorsport are also in strong positions in the junior classification: Philip Wiskirchen finished fifth in the contested subclassification, Motorsport Team Germany sponsorship pilot Thomas Rackl in ninth place. ME Motorsport is in eighth position in the team standings.

Markus Eichele concludes: “We are currently preparing for the 2025 season at full speed. We want to build on our sometimes strong performance from this year and come back even stronger next year! “After a strong debut year, ME Motorsport would like to start again in the ADAC GT4 Germany next year. The racing team from Schwäbisch Gmünd is also thinking about entering the GT4 European Series — the SRO racing series is considered the strongest GT4 racing series in the world and regularly starts with starting fields of over 50 cars.
